Thanks for all of the posts on the solar lunar eclipses.  I immediately thought of the following verses:
 
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matt. 24:29, 30).
 

For this year, the total solar eclipse is predicted for August 1, 2008.  A partial lunar eclipse is predicted for August 16, 2008.  The Perseids meteor shower is due August 12, 13, 2008.  All in August!

 

Seven years later a partial solar eclipse is predicted for September 13, 2015.  A total lunar eclipse is predicted for September 9, 2015.  The Perseids meteor shower is due August 12, 13, 2015. 

 

My understanding is that sun signs are for the gentiles and moon signs are for the Jews.  Notice that there is a total solar eclipse and partial lunar eclipse this year and the reverse in 2015.  I believe the stars could be signs for the church.

 

 

The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.(Rev1:20)

 

 

The Perseids meteor shower is one of the best meteor showers to observe as it produces up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak.  It takes place this year between the solar and lunar eclipses.  In 2015, it takes place just before the eclipses. 

 

This shower is in the constellation Perseus.  In Greek mythology, Perseus was the son of the god Zeus and a human woman.  He killed Medusa (the one with the serpents on her head).  We all know that satan likes to imitate God, although his imitations are a poor substitue for the real thing.

 

Another interesting sign is that this take place during the zodiac constellation of Leo the Lion.  The return of Jesus as the Lion of Judah? 

 

This could be interpreted as:  2008, a warning to the gentiles, rapture of the church, warning to the Jews.  Then in 2015, a sign to tribulation believers, a final warning to the Jews, God’s judgment on this earth. 

 

I’m not a prophet and I’m not saying that this is what is going to happen.  I’m only saying to watch and wait. And pray!
