I don't think they want protection, I think they are preparing to feed on a lot of human flesh!

 

God is making them hungry for human flesh. Judgement is coming folks and this is part of it.

 

"Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, flesh of mighty men...And all the birds were filled with their flesh." (Rev19:17,18,21)

 

I believe the rapture is going to leave hundreds of millions of people dead. Those left alive will not be able to bury the dead bodies quick enough, to stop the birds feeding on decaying flesh.

 

This is one of the harsh realities of the Great Tribulation.
