"a dream"

Dear Doves,

I was observing a young woman who came up to a half-open door, knelt down, got up, and waited. The young bride, in a simple white wedding dress, approached an alter. No, it was the waist-high ledge of a door spilt in half horizontally – the top half of which was open. All of a sudden, she was me. As she knelt before the door, she placed her praying hands on the ledge, bowed briefly and rose. She stood very calmly with her hands still folded, waiting. She became anxious, realizing that the door wasn’t open to her. Then she heard a male voice, almost chuckling, saying, “No Silly, the door is not closed”. Feeling relieved, then increasingly joyous, she continued waiting. Then, I woke up. It was 6:55 AM EST Thursday morning, May 15th.

I am writing this dream down 40 minutes later, wondering what it meant. My first thought was that I’m not ready – yet, so the door is only half-open to me. Then, I remember that the voice was light–hearted, gentle, and called me “silly”. Silly for worrying? It emphasized that the door was not closed.

When this type of door was still common and the top half was open, it usually meant that the visitor was welcome but should wait to be invited to enter. Someone was inside and would shortly appear to do so. This dream, I don’t have many, was a great comfort to me – almost a confirmation. I thought I’d share it with you so that it may comfort you also.

Blessings,
