2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

The scholars of the conservative and very literal Independent Baptist Church movement teach that the proper translation in the context of the passage means that the departure (the rapture) comes first , then the AC is revealed.  This is the only interpretation that matches the whole harmony of Bible prophecy and in the context in what Paul was talking about.......  Some teachers had upset the local church saying that the rapture had already happened and they had been left behind..... Paul was assuring them that the church would be raptured before the AC would be revealed.  That is the plain common sense of what Paul was saying........  Lewis  Brackett
