Old creation and young earth

 

The heavens have the look of being infinitely old, yet the creation story in Genesis only goes back to 4004BC.
Give or take 100 years or so….  This is one of the main reasons for the scoffing of the scientific elite… one of their
Excuses anyway….. One we have to deal with in any event……

 

There are many conservative scholars that believe that the Earth is vastly older than 4004 years…. Jay Vernon McGee for example says 10,000 years at least.……

 

May I throw out this Idea?   ( I will anyway  :)  ) Perhaps both ideas are true !!!  Perhaps GOD created the universe an infinite amount of time ago, but Satan’s rebellion was only 6500 years ago !!!

 

Now this leaves us some interesting possibilities…… I think I can safely say that the whole purpose for creating MAN was to resolve the angelic rebellion…… GOD could have destroyed Satan and his rebel angels, but that would have proven that GOD was stronger than Satan, but not that GOD was right and Satan wrong.

 

GOD could have taken a barren lifeless world as in Genesis ch 1 and “Terraformed” it as us Sci-Fi addicts like to say in order to make a place for his  plan to be acted out. I an mot saying that there is necessarily a long time
between Genesis 1:1 and Gen 1:2….…. I believe that Genesis 1:1 makes a statement,  then the next verses
Amplify  the statement in the ancient Hebrew manner of writing– a manner of writing which causes endless
confusion….
