"Defeating Fear"
Dear Georgia Kelly, Reva and Jan Mikael -
Thank you so much for your
kind and encouraging words. I definitely need to remember that the God I serve
is in control of all things. Just knowing that should give me peace at ALL
times. But, in my humaness, fear does creep in. I just really need to remember
that the Lord has given all of us the most powerful weapon - His word. My
parents taught me and my siblings from a very young age that the word of God is
a sword that can be used to defeat the enemy. They also taught us to put on our
spiritual armor every day. It is amazing how the chaos of life sometimes dulls
this spiritual knowledge in me. The Lord has reawakened that in me over the
past couple of days. When that fear rises up, I know I need to take those
thoughts into captivity in accordance with 2 Corinthians 10:5 - "Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of
God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of
Christ."
Thanks again for all your insight.
In Christ -
Kendra

The Whole Armour of
God
Ephesians 6
10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the power of his might.
11Put on the whole armour of God, that
ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness
in high places.
13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that
ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having
on the breastplate of righteousness;
15And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God:
18Praying always with all prayer and supplication
in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for
all saints
