Dear friends:

According to http://www.census.gov/main/www/popclock.html, the world population is 6,665,904,754, as of 12:52 GMT (EST+5) May 06, 2008.

At the current rate of increase, it should hit 6,666,666,666 sometime near midnight today or shortly before, if my calculations are correct.

This seems historic to me, and maybe with prophetic implications.

Don't get me wrong.  I don't mean that at the moment we hit 6,666,666,666 the antichrist will get on CNN and announce that he has arrived (to the applause of the CNN staff), but it does seem important and symbolic, especially with all the other signs and speculations about the soon beginning of the Tribulation.
