"Target: William Shatner"
Dear friends:
Let's target movie/TV star and non-believer William Shatner
with prayer!
Last night during a TV interview with Glenn Beck, Beck said
to him, "You are really a blessed man."
Shatner replied, "I know I am
blessed, and every day I give thanks -- to whatever, or
whomever."
This 77-year-old blessed man does not know God, who is
not a whatever or whomever. He did not know to whom to address
his thanks. It was so sad. It was revealed that he was raised as an Orthodox
Jew, but he does not know the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
In the
mid-1970s, when he and I both were in our 30s, I was with a small group of
people in Virginia who got to see this new Star Wars acting sensation in
person. He was outdoors standing on the bed of an 18-wheeler, addressing a
small crowd of mostly young people. He was taking questions. One Christian
young lady boldly spoke up and asked, "Are you born again?"
Shatner
replied with some words that indicated he did not understand the question, and
his reply was somewhat of a snide remark. God has kept that stuck in my heart,
for this very day and purpose.
Shatner's appointed day is near. It is
his time. God loves him, and has not forgotten him. Little does he know that
you and many others of God's people all over the world are petitioning God for
his salvation. He will be a trophy of God's grace and a testimony of God's love
and the power of prayer. These prayers are foreordained.
"Get Him,
Lord. Please save this son of Abraham. Reveal to Him your own Son, who died for
him. We ask you to bring him gloriously into the kingdom. For Jesus' sake, and
in His name. Amen."
