Dear John,
Well it's finally happened. I cannot avoid it any longer. After many,
many years of lurking, knowing that I have nothing of any notable scholarship or
insight to add, or in the worst case possibly making a fool of myself, I have
this overwhelming compulsion to write to you and sincerely Thank You, the other
Doves and the many, many contributors and letter writers, especially Marilyn
Agee and her website, who have been my primary spritual life line. Yes, believe
it! I feel if I wait any longer, I will have missed my chance to tell you while
we are still here. When we meet in heaven, I want to be able to know I thanked
you on earth and realize it would have been a terrible mistake not to have done
so.
Pastor Riley's recent posting was riveting! Like the rest of you, I
too am constantly yearning for His call to take us home. I just can't help
myself. It's just there all the time.
I cannot help but believe that there must be thousands of others
lurking out there who perhaps feel as I do, day after day, looking for new
letters with insights of hope as they wait patiently for that blessed day. If
you are out there, won't you write to say Thank You, as well? I thoroughly
enjoy all of the different perspectives and the wonderous variety, from the
mathematical genius of Bob Ware to the overwhelming "Sold out to Christ" joy of
Samson Mwawasi. I hang on every word. They get me through my days.
Well, I guess I am not a lurker any longer. "Thank You" seems so
inadequate, but "Thank You" again none the less.
Can't wait to meet all of you!
YBIC
