Dear Doves. The information on jubilee cycles is very helpful. Few people realize that the jubilee cycles are actually 49 years apart, not 50. That means they always follow a sabbatical year. The first year of the new 8th sabbatical cycle is also the 50th year from start and hence is Jubilee. The connection with Sept 66-Sept 67 being a jubilee year (and associated with the recapture/release of Jerusalem) is noteworthy. The previous jubilee year would fall in the Sept 17- Sept 18 timeframe. Actually the exact dates are Sept 17/17 to Sept 7/18. Thus the Sept 26th occupation of all area by British troops Sept 26/18 falls outside the jubilee bounds. However the Balfour Declaration and incidentally the Fall of Jerusalem certainly do fall inside the dates. Jerusalem fell to a humble General Allenby in December 1917; he actually dismounted from his horse and entered the city on foot.

I would also mention that Sir Isaac Newton believed strongly that the 62 weeks of Daniel's prophecy should not be simply coupled with the 7 weeks. He argued that the first 62 weeks had been fulfilled but that the last seven weeks (49 years) would commence from a future event concerning Jerusalem (note the possible connection with June 1967). One jubilee cycle later takes us to Sept 2015- 2016. If the last jubilee heralded the future peace of Jerusalem perhaps the next one will see it's actual Shalom!!! as you suggest. Regards, Hal
