"Re Todd Bentley"
Yah that video is a bit odd. But we have to
be careful in not being overly critical, even though this example seems
over the top.
I went to his retreat a few times a few
years ago. I think one needs to hear his testemony to understand were
he is coming from. There are a few Christians that realy seek God with
all that they have and devote tremendous amounts of prayer time. He
would be one. The several others I have heard of also have had these
extreme sounding testemonies. I will try to remember one since I no
longer have the book. There was a black man from Africa, Kuba I think,
he changed his name to Samuel Morrison I believe. He came to America in
the 1800's after a miraculous escape from slavery. He reached a
breakthrough in prayer and was a very profound Christian who changed
the life of many just by being in he presense. He was so close to Jesus
and so focused on him it convicted everyone else around him.
Now
there are things about Todd that I don't care for, the tatoes have
multiplied and things like that. So he is still a bit street punkish.
Sometimes
in our trying to be careful we become too scepticle. I recall reading a
link from here re some Christian music. I was agreeing with it until I
saw almost everyone considered occult by an over critical analysis. We
tend to overcriticise and reject when some of the people we are
criticizing are more fruitful then us. I do the same all the time.
