"Pastor Riley's Rapture Post"

I wish to extend my sincere thanks to Pastor Riley for his May 10, scripture-saturated, Pentecost Rapture posting. It was great to see so many indications of a Pentecost Rapture that are rarely touched upon. I do not believe, however, that the date that was given for the coming Pentecost is correct, nor do I believe that the 41st year will begin on June 8, 2008.

Pastor Riley states that June 7– 8 is the date for this year’s Feast of Pentecost. I have a calendar printed in Israel that correctly states that Pentecost in Israel begins this year at Sundown on Sunday, June 8 and ends at Sundown on Monday, June 9. There is also a second day of Pentecost on June 9-10. However, this was added later by the Jews, and is not a part of the Biblical revelation.

I believe the 41st year will begin on June 14, 2008. Though the Six Day War ended on June 10, 1967, the victory was officially celebrated on the “appointed festival” of Pentecost, which was on June 14, 1967. At that time, an estimated 200,000 Israelis gathered at the Western Wall of the Temple Mount to celebrate their victory in the Six Day War. Pentecost was one of the three High Holy days on the Jewish calendar, and I believe at that time the countdown to the 41st year began. That would mean that a June 8-9 Pentecost Rapture would still be within the framework of the 40th year.

I will close with a brief comment on the counting of the Omer. This was basically a 50 day countdown from Firstfruits to Pentecost. The 33rd counting of the omer was a day of great rejoicing, with scores of weddings taking place. From a Christian standpoint, it means only 17 more days to Pentecost. The number SEVENTEEN connotes “Resurrection Victory.”

Thanks again brother  Riley for a job well done.
