I think as long as our hearts are "beating for
Jesus" and we're ABIDING IN THE VINE (love Him enough to obey/follow Him at all
costs!) then we're all set for the rapture ~ even so, Scripture does say we ARE
to watch & pray always to be counted worthy to escape...... so I don't at
all have a problem doing that -- but just don't let fear grip you!!
Remember "who" fear comes from!! It is NOT of
God! [a "healthy fear" of God is a good thing = respect/honor for WHO HE
IS].... but fear of what man or the enemy can do to us, or fear of the unknown
is not of God:
2 Timothy 1:7For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and
of love and of a sound mind.
Anyway, also be assured that your sweet 2 1/2
y/o son will not be left behind to fend for himself!! I cannot see any very
young child ~ as long as s/he is a child of a Christian parent, being left
behind. {Various theories abound as to whether ALL children be raptured; or
only the ones of Christian parents & I've read convincing arguments both
ways, though I tend to lean on the side that all very young children will be
raptured. However, I'm not so sure about those "still in the
womb".}
At any rate, I don't want to merely form an
opinion, without it being BIBLICALLY BASED!! So, here you go:
Joel 2:16Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the
elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let
the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing
room.

and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
The rapture is a blessed hope to the Christian. Watching for and expecting
the rapture is a blessed hope that encourages a person to stay close to the
Lord. A person watching daily for the rapture will go on with life but be
constantly looking for the return of the Lord each day. This blessed hope also
has a purifying effect. A person will not get caught up in worldliness or wrong
