I’m just getting back in town (Nebraska) from the Colorado Rockies where I was on my honeymoon. I got married May 12th and will be working to post some wedding pics to my site. I’ll try and post a new picture of Kellie and I to my blog section as soon as I can. We had a wonderful, wonderful honeymoon. One highlight I’ll mention is that I was able to be at the top of Pike’s Peak on Ascension Day. A winter storm combined with an electrical storm rolled through. I could feel the electricity in the air – it was Awesome!!! Our favorite spot was up in Steamboat called Fish Creek Falls. It was beautiful!!!
I am studying Shavuot to see if I can find any new gleanings, but most of all just waiting and watching!!!
Found this:
Shavuot is unlike other Jewish holidays in that it has no prescribed mitzvot (Torah commandments) other than the traditional festival observances of abstention from work, special prayer services and holiday meals.
Many reasons that this could be it!!! Only our Father knows, but I am happy to wait and watch!
Ten Commandments: Marriage of Israel and YHWH
Pentecost: Marriage of the Church, outpouring of the Holy Spirit
The book of Ruth is read: Marriage of Ruth and Boaz
Potentially Isaac and Rebecca. At least in the scriptural order. Isaac was offered up for sacrifice in Genesis 22, chapter 23 Sarah dies and in 24 a new bride is found for Isaac.
I will be watching all this week and through Sunday. I can see reasons YHWH could choose the date for Shavuot since it is the Jewish observance or the Church’s observance of Pentecost.
Blessings,
Tony
