Dear Peggy,
I found your question about Hawks in prophesy and wanted to give you my experience.  I have dreamt about a Hawk who came to my defense.  I believe the Hawk represented the Holy Spirit.
I had been fasting for three days when I had the following dream:
 
I awoke and was lying in bed in a very dark room.  Directly above me was an "open window" in the ceiling.  There was no glass in this opening.  I lay in the dark looking through the opening at the beautiful night sky; stars everywhere.
Then I suddenly noticed a large, black crow sitting on the windows edge.  Fear instantly filled me!  I then understood that in this same dark room were my children (3) who were also sleeping.  Fear for them made me jump to my feet.  As I did, instantly there was a hawk now sitting on my shoulder as I stood.  Without warning there was a fierce collision in mid air between the black crow and the hawk.
Now I see the crow at my feet wounded.  I stand above him and strangely this ball begins to form in my mouth.  I take it and strike the crow with it.  As soon as I take one out another forms in my mouth and I continue this until I awaken.  Guess what the balls tasted like??? BREAD.  (The Word of God).
So, I believe Hawks at least in my very comforting dream was representative of the Holy Spirit's protection.
