Israeli TV Airs Positive Report on Messianic Jews

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - A report which documents the lives of native-born Messianic Jews has been featured on Israel's evening news bulletin. Many of the believers live in a community outside Jerusalem. The documentary portrayed the believers in an extremely positive light, highlighting the fact that a number are officers in Israel's Defence Forces, observantly Jewish and true to their culture in every way. They are normal, happy, productive families which are part and parcel of Israeli society.

Segments of their worship services were viewed, and one could see a vibrant, all-Hebrew style worship with joyful singing and time of spontaneous, heartfelt prayer, unlike the rote prayers generally used in traditional services which are read from a prayer book. In contrast to this very positive portrayal was a short segment showing angry Orthodox members of the Beer Sheva community who looked hateful and venomous in their protest demonstrations.

The program was aired on Israel's most popular Channel 2's Friday night evening news with viewers being left to draw their own conclusions. Observers said they could not remember a time when they have seen a more fair and balanced look into the lives of Israeli believers in Yeshua the Messiah. In fact, many of those interviewed shared the message of Yeshua right on television, using His name and explaining how and why they came to believe in Him
