"ginisko or oida"

ginisko or oida

There are two Greek words for "know" in the New Testament: ginisko and oida. The former signifies an objective knowledge; the latter a subjective and more intimate awareness. "The Lord knows all who are saved" (2 Tim. 2:19 ; Gal. 4:9; Jn. 10:14 ). But this is only a ginisko knowledge. And that is precisely why some are not allowed in to the marriage supper. His knowledge of them was limited, and on the basis of ginisko, not oida (Matt. 25:12).

An intimate walk with the Lord is based upon oida, not ginisko. Which one does the Lord have with you?
