Due to TIGHT personal time constraints (3-hour drive per day to/from work, etc.), from now on, I will only be listing the FEATURE stories each day, though the actual daily news stories will ALL be on my Update page. Total listings were taking me WAY too long in the mornings!

• Will Bush veto 'thought police'? - The nation's largest public policy women's group is asking President Bush to commit to a veto of a "hate crimes" plan that, as WND has reported, opponents fear would target Christians and be used to demolish both freedom of speech and religion in the United States.

CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION/ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIAS:

• Christian students with Bible messages on shirts booted - Inderkum High, one of several Sacramento schools where Christian students were penalized for objecting to the "Day of Silence" homosexual advocacy

• Christians meet atheists in televised God debate - Two Christians are meeting two atheists in a televised debate with the subject the existence of God, and Ray Comfort, a best-selling author and expert on Christian evangelism, says he can prove the existence of the Almighty in his allotted 13 minutes – without mentioning the Bible or faith.

CHRISTIANITY:

• The Apostasy - I read Copeland’s book recently, and it served to remind me that in the midst of all the chaos and confusion occurring around us that the Lord is still working out His purposes on earth and that He is still in charge.

• Christian sues to halt mosque construction <- It's about TIME we stood up for our rights!!! - A Florida man filed a lawsuit to prevent construction of a mosque in his neighborhood, claiming it "presents a substantial harm to the well-being, safety and health" of his community.

• Pastor preaches against complaining <- Amen, brother Bowen!!! - The Rev. Will Bowen tries not to complain. He wants everyone else to stop carping, too -- all 6 billion of us on the planet. [Read the article... he has an EXCELLENT plan!!! Peggy.]

• Antarctica Meltdown : On thin ice - Icebergs originate from ice sheets, which form on land from millions of years of snowfall. As the ice gravitates towards the sea, it naturally breaks up. But scientists say the ice around the Antarctic Peninsula is disintegrating at unprecedented rates and blame warmer weather.

• Melting Greenland Ice Could Raise Ocean Seven Meters - The world's oceans could rise by up to seven meters [almost 23'!!!] if Greenland's ice cap entirely melts because of global warming, climate scientists said Tuesday. Glaciers on Greenland, the world's most icy land mass, are now melting most quickly where they are in contact with surrounding ocean, while ice in the high centre remains intact, said Garry Clarke, a professor at the University of British Columbia in this western Canadian city.

 Strange Events in the Animal Kingdom 

• Amphibians In Losing Race With Environmental Change - In the face of current environmental challenges, amphibians appear to be losing the battle - of 5,743 known species of amphibians on Earth, 43 percent are in decline, 32 percent are threatened and 168 species are believed extinct.

• Starving vultures prey on live animals - HUGE flocks of starving vultures have started attacking live animals in northern Spain, officials in the city of Burgos said today. In one incident, about 100 vultures killed a cow and her newborn calf, a rancher from the Mena Valley said, according to the Spanish government's office in Burgos, quoted by state news agency EFE.

EXCERPT:

A correct study of the book of Daniel indicates that there remains a week of years (seven years) for God to deal with Israel. Daniel's vision of seventy weeks of years was given to him while studying Jeremiah which talks about a time called "Jacob's trouble" (Jacob is Israel). The prophecy says the Messiah would be cut off after sixty-nine weeks of years, which was fulfilled exactly at the time of the death of Jesus. The Church age was inserted until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled and then God will again deal with Israel for the final fulfillment of the prophecy for the last week of years. This week is the time of Jacob's trouble also known by Christians as the tribulation.
