William Branham thought he was Elijah during the late 50s, before that,  John Alexander Dowie had the idea.  These were true believers who had God’s power In their life,  but a little bit caught in a delusion.

 There is a concept that Elijah comes first – Elijah being an announcer, like John the Baptist, so in that sense, we who speak of the Lord coming are of that spirit. However, the actual guy Elijah will be here one day.  I suspect he will come back along with Enoch, and be dropped off when we are caught up.  This fellow over in Israel seems very flakey to me.
