The pea is a seed. The seed is the Word.
You don't see the seed in what was a mystery (puzzle)
and has been illustrated (revealed) by laying the
pieces of wood in order.(The tomb is empty.) You report it to the keeper of
the books who, essentially says, "Fear not". She
knows that not seeing the pea does not ruin the story.
It is still present in the minds of those who have
heard the story.Remember, you arrive as the library is about to
close-the library shelters (covers) books. Your
arrival is at the end of the story. The cover is
about to close because the story has been told...it is
finished.In the story of the princess and the pea, the many
clouds of witnesses (mattresses) are searched under,
one by one, until the pea is found and re-moved (put
into action again). The pea(seed)was "lifted up," and
