"NOTHING"

The blister on my heel seems only a small irritance compared
to what you must be going through sitting in traffic.
The ache in my shoulder torn from kickback of my firearm
not properly positioned due to fatigue, is a forgone fleeting
moment, compared to the fact that the gasoline has run up past
your pocketbook's patience.
The heat was sweltering and I used my last can of silly string to
save my buddy's life....whew that was a close one!
The stars and stripes on my canteen have worn and faded but they
are proud enough to be noticed.  The British flag and the Austrailian
on the packs I saw today were just as proud.
I heard about the floods and tornados you are going through as RPG fire
blew through my friend, and I wondered how you could be coping and
getting along without me there.
When I pray at night, the stars I see, are the same ones you make a passing
glance at.  I am glad at least once to have enjoyed the privelege.
Your cellphone bill must have made you crazy considering the car repairs
you had to make.
Did I tell you about the mass graves we found today? It all made no sense as
a three year old girl hobbled up for the peppermints in my pocket.  She was
greatful for a loving glance and a firearm on saftey, pointed in the opposite direction.
The parliament here is trying to decide if they still need our help and I haven't
heard a word from you...are you still there?
I saw a new school opened up and gave a boy a drink from my dribble of water
left in my canteen. We saved  four people from a torture house while loosing two of ours.
I know your life is hectic, so I will try as I may to be brief.
If you think about it and your stressful life is not too overwhelming right
now, just know...
I didn't die for nothing.  I am a soldier for the United States of America and I am so very
proud of you.

Looking up and loving the learning process! Kelly in Dallas
