"A Set Apart Day: 5-25-2007"

Dear John and all Doves,
This week has an interesting combination of Jewish Pentecost from 5-22 to 24 and Christian Pentecost from 5-26 to 27. That leaves 5-25 to 26 as the one day that is set apart from the others. And it is set apart in a double sense since it is the weekly 7th day sabbath or shabbat. There will be a specific watcher class of people watching the skies as sunset arrives for the various time zones. There are two commands in the Torah to greet the shabbat as it arrives and then next day as it departs at sunset. There is also association of this day like a bride. The Christ/Messiah said that He is master of the 7th day sabbath. There are 7 ages. Hmmm...
Also in the book of Ruth, important Pentecost reading, is an interesting time delay from the time Boaz awakens at midnight until about 4A.M. Boaz asks Ruth to tarry until morning yet she is to leave the barley threshing floor before anyone knows she has been there. Boaz goes early morning to the city gate of Bethlehem [The House of Bread], remember The Bread of Life and the two wheat loaves waved at Pentecost? He meets there with his relative and asks ten men to be his witnesses as he begins to be the kinsman redeemer. That makes twelve men. How many men are necessary to constitute a quorum to worship publically on the shabbat? There must be 10! How many commands were given to the ten tribes of Israel at Pentecost at Mount Sinai? There were 10! Why could they all be there at the city gate at the conclusion of the barley harvest? Shabbat was a no work and no harvest day. We may have some great clues here. Are all issues resolved by 9A.M.? Boaz is free to marry his Ruth. This is a day in between the two Pentecosts yet it may have the most importance of all. May we watch together.

With Love and Shalom.
