Dear John and all Doves,
There is an omer count commanded in the Torah. This 50 day count is a sequence and process perhaps much more important than we realize. It links Passover/Unleavened Bread with Pentecost. Every day of this is somehow important as a period for preparation for the culmination at Pentecost. If we calculated the omer count as starting at 4-2-07, then day 50 is complete at sunset in Israel on 5-22-07. This is very interesting this year in that the day 4 from the weekly 7th day Sabbath is 5-22 to 5-23. Remember our Steve Berryman's remarks about the menorah and the central place of number 4? This is an earlier timeline. The later timeline starts the omer count on the 7th day Sabbath during Passover/Unleavened Bread. This would start at 4-6 and end at 4-26 at sundown in Israel. This creates a discrepancy of 4 days. Thank you Charles Holler for your post on Pentecost. It helped me see these issues much more clearly.
Pentecost is a great scriptural bridal anniversary day of the giving of the ten commands,or vows, to the bride of the ten tribes of Israel at Mount Sinai long ago. Will a new bride be called and chosen this Pentecost between 5-22 and 5-26? Time will tell. Looking to 5-22, we see that 5 is a number associated with grace and 22 is a number associated with judgment. May we watch together. With Love and Shalom,
