"Dancing with the Lord or
dancing with the world? vision."
Wade's letter re dancing with the stars yesterday
reminded me of a vision I had many years ago re the church in the last
days. I don't mean to discredit the implication of being intimate with
the Lord but it also reminded me of a cult in Seattle in which the preacher
taught the congregation to find their soul mate, which could be other than
their spouse, and dance with them in the church. Many bad things happened
there and the church fell apart. It was interesting how it started out,
the pastor was like a father to them, full of wisdom. He then slowly began
introducing this idea which led to his fantasy taking over the church with
much adultry.
The vision I had was that of a trip to a fishing town
where all the fishing boats were for sale. The church in that town looked
like a regular building and the church people were out in the street dancing
with the unbelievers. In the vision the church had become a whore house.
I was told to warn them but since I was a new Christian I decided they
would not listen to me so I walked away. It became very dark and the dream
was over.
When I woke up I was repulsed. Had the church realy
become a whore house? Were the fishing boats missionaries who were selling
their business to join the world? I was then led to Jeremiah 23 etc. 'Woe
to my pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture.... Mine
heart within me is broken because of the prophets....the land is full of
adulterers.'
This was not a pleasant dream but unfortunately
many of us have fallen victim to the sensual world. It is true that without
intimacy with the Lord we can not be ready. Intimacy with the Lord, however,
is much different then intimacy with the world. I can't wait to shed this
corrupt and confused body.
