"Spring Cleaning Fever?"
Hi, Doves,
I am struck with a most unusual activity to clean my
house, from top to bottom. I am washing, scrubbing, waxing, dusting,
anything that doesn't move gets cleaned! I'm cleaning out under the
sink, the pantry, moving the refrigerator away from the wall, finishing
up projects that have been laying around, stuff like that. I am cleaning
as though I have a house inspection coming next week -- and it's just the
2 of us and no one ever comes over. I'm not exactly a slob, but this
is not my usual mode of cleaning. I usually clean as I go, never
all at once like this.
The last time I was struck with this frenzy of activity
was a few years back, when I was suddenly struck with an urge to clean
out all my closets, give away books, destroy old financial records, etc.
I felt an urgency to see empty closets, for no particular reason.
A couple of months later we decided to put our house on the market to sell
it. This was unexpected. My previous housecleaning purge had
given me a head-start on the real packing and moving. Obviously,
the Lord knew all about it, and nudged me to do this.
Now, I'm cleaning my house as though I'm leaving it clean
for new occupants to move in, so they'll find a spiffy clean house.
We have NO intentions of selling, and see no need to, but this is what
I'd be doing if I was going to put my house on the market. Maybe
this is a "stretch", but I'm wondering if maybe the Lord is having me prepare
my house, because pretty soon we're not going to be living here any more.
Is anyone else having this experience?
