This is an old song from 1970, written by Gordon Jensen.  It spoke to my heart in the 70s and it continues to run through my head almost daily.
 
Years of time have come and gone
Since I first heard it told,
How Jesus would come again some day;
If back then it seemed so real,

How much closer His coming is today.
