"The Serpent devouring a Fish - strange symbolism"

Twice this week I went for a ride with a brother in the Lord. On the first outing he was driving and came across a rattle snake in the road. Before he could stop the car we came upon a second snake in the road. He stopped the car and we got out to take a closer look at both of the snakes. The second snake was not poisonous, but we kept our distance from the rattler.

Today (5/6/2007) I drove us to a local park below Lake Success. We took a walk along the river below the dam. We came upon a snake that was on a rock on the river bank. He was trying to swallow a fish that he had caught. We continued walking along a nature trail that was near the river. We came upon a second snake that darted across our path.

It is unusual to come upon one snake on a normal outing, but to come upon two snakes on two outings during a single week is very unusual. In the Garden the serpent was Satan and the fish is a common symbol for Christians. In my community there is a satanic invasion of two-legged snakes that is literally devouring the Christian culture that once prevailed.

Sorry for the poor quality of the attached photo of the snake swallowing the fish, but I couldn't get any closer because of the steep rocky bank along the river.
