"Dreams/Visions"

Dear Doves,

Since many are sharing their dream/visions about the Rapture, I thought I would share the one I had years ago.  (I might have shared it with you a few years ago.  I don’t remember.)   Anyway it was back around late1970 or early 1971 not long after my husband and I had received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Having a Catholic background, we were not raised with the knowledge of the Rapture.  My husband came home from a Full Gospel Business Men’s Meeting one day all excited and shared with me what he had learned from some of the people there about the soon coming of Jesus and the Rapture of the true believers.

(Jerry, my husband, had been in the seminary studying to be a Catholic priest for 12 years when God had called him to leave.  I had been in a convent for two and half years before God had called me out.  We met, married, and have nine children; at the time of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1970 we only had three children.)

Anyway back to the background of the dream/vision.  Jerry shared with me about this Rapture business and told me that he had seen a footnote in a book about the Rapture of the church during one of his studies while in the seminary and that the early believers believed in it as well as the apostles.  He never thought further about it until that F.G.B.M.F.I. meeting he had attended.

I thought it all sounded a little too far fetched for me but decided not to argue with him thinking, he’ll get over it.

Later that evening after putting the little ones to bed, I sat on the edge of the master bed and flipped open my Bible saying, “What are you going to teach me today, Jesus?”  (Jesus was teaching us daily from His Word.)  Suddenly…………

I found myself on the middle balcony like in the Hearst Castle balconies.

(We had gone there on our honeymoon.  The Hearst Castle has three large balconies.)

It was very dark like night.  I was witnessing to my brother and Jerry was witnessing to another man who had dark hair and was with my brother.  I said to my brother, “You have to believe the whole BibleEvery word is true.

I looked to the upper balcony and told my brother we had to get into the prayer meeting as it was about to begin.  We can’t enter through the upper balcony as the doors are closed and sealed but I know a secret entrance.  I led my brother down around the side of the building to a private entrance.  I remember it was very narrow and you had to bend down to get into the room(I am short, 5’ 1” yet I had to stoop to get in.)

As we entered the room it was all lit up in yellow and bright in contrast to the dark outside.  People there at the meeting had started praising God.

As I raised my hands to join in the praise, I found myself very light and started to be lifted off the floor.  I yelled to my brother that now you have to believe in the Rapture as it is happening.  With that I grabbed my two youngest children (ages 4 and 2) by the hand, (Jerry had our oldest age 6.) and the second I had their hands in mine I started to soar like a jet going up.

I looked down at my body and saw lights coming on like neon lights flickering….. starting from my feet moving up my body.  My immediate thought was that this is our mortal body putting on immortality.  “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”     I Corinthians 15:53

My next thought was but Jesus should be in the air and I looked up to see Him when I heard a faint call, “Arliss….Arliss……Arliss...”

I popped up sitting straight on the edge of the bed. (I do not recall having gotten sleepy or anything like that but I must have been literally put out by Jesus)   My heart was beating ninety miles a minute just like it did when I received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.  Jerry who had just walked into the bedroom was standing there looking at me and wanted to know where something was (I don’t recall what it was he was looking or asking for).

I told him what I had experienced.

Afterwards I felt like Jacob must have felt when he dreamed of the ladder going up to Heaven.   Genesis 28:12

I felt like saying this is holy ground, let us build an altar here to worship God.  Genesis 28:16 -22

I believe God gave me that dream/vision because in my heart I had not believed my husband when he told me of the Rapture.  He, God, wanted us to be of one mind and thought.  I never doubted the Rapture after that.  My children are grown and married and I have grandchildren but I still believe that the Rapture is going to happen in my lifetime.

“Please Jesus, let it be this year.”

I often wondered what would have happened if Jerry had not called out to me. :)

The Word says be anxious for nothing yet I keep telling Jesus, “I try but I am anxious for the Rapture to take place.”

Awaiting His soon coming,
