To Marilyn Agee re: the wise and foolish
virgins
Marilyn, I believe you are right about the virgins being
pre-tribulation rapture types. It just makes sense, because the cry
is that the bridegroom cometh, and in the oriental weddings, the bridegroom
would come and abduct the bride like a thief in the night,,,and the bridesmaids
would then go with the bride and groom to the wedding festivities, which
lasted for a week----and then at the end of the week there was a large
public celebration (the wedding supper), open to a larger crowd.
Rebekah's damsels went with her when she left with Abraham's servant (the
Holy Spirit)........they didn't stay for any part of the "ten days"
that Rebekah's family wanted her to stay.
The cry is that the bridegroom cometh,,,not that he has already come and
taken the bride away......the foolish virgins had very little oil, and
no oil in the extra vessels. They will be taken by surprise,
and then want to rely on the wise virgins and their supply of oil....keep
up your very good work,,,,your sister,,,,,Arlene
