"Evil and Faithful Servants
and the Ten Virgins"
It has be postulated that the parable of the
Ten Virgins is not speaking of the Bride.
Severing the parable from the full discourse and becoming
myopic just on chapter 25 I believes blinds many people. We should include
the end of Ch. 24 to see the whole picture.
MATTHEW 24:45
45 Who then is a faithful and
wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give
them meat in due season?
MATTHEW 24:46
46 Blessed [is] that servant,
whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
MATTHEW 24:47
47 Verily I say unto you, That
he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
MATTHEW 24:48
48 But and if that evil servant
shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
MATTHEW 24:49
49 And shall begin to smite
[his] fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
MATTHEW 24:50
50 The lord of that servant
shall come in a day when he looketh not for [him], and in an hour that
he is not aware of,
MATTHEW 24:51
51 And shall cut him asunder,
and appoint [him] his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping
and gnashing of teeth.
The Chapter divisions are convenient for finding
things but lets not let them cut us off from the continuity of this discourse
by a break which says "Chapter 25"
MATTHEW 25:1
1 ¶ "Then"
shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins,
which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
The Then puts the time element of the 10 virgins at the
same time that men are smiting their fellow servants saying "Where is the
promise of His coming?" These people "during" the time of the 10 Virgins
are in doubt. They are looking for whom? The coming of the Son of Man.
And Matthew 24 is speaking of in some context the Rapture.
Then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be LIKENED unto. A Likening
is not the exact thing. But we know that at the time when the evil servants
are smiting the faithful it will be a time like all those "likened" to
Noah, Women at the mill, and all of the indications which the Lord Gave
us to enlighten us to His coming.
The Ten Virgins are a LIKENING TO the "TIME" HIM COMING.
HE IS THE BRIDEGROOM COMING.
The evil servant, IS A SERVANT. But they are put forth
out into the Tribulation where there is gnashing of teeth.
The parable of the Virgins shows these same people SHUT OUT asking the
LORD to open to them. But they are commanded to depart. They did not come
to know the Lord intimately though were of the Faith and by their looking
back to Christ, were considered believers but their not watching and denying
in themselves a relationship with the Lord to be enlightened to his coming
fail to go in the Coming.
Foolish men,
Brother
