Dear John Tng,

Thank you so much for your article entitled “Pentecost Rapture”, it reminded me of a decision that I had made the other day after reading John 14:1-31. I had decided to read the same chapter at least once per day for 21 consecutive days. Somehow, because of other things I sort of forgot. When I read your article on 4 April 2006, I got the reminder to continue reading John14 again. Initially my 21 consecutive days were expiring on 21 April 2006, so I’m still going to stop on 21/04/2006.

Last week I noticed for the first time that the last portion of the last verse in John 14 reads” Come now, let us leave”. I found that rather strange.

God bless you for your dedicated service!!

Simon.

Dear John Tng,

The main points I learnt from John 14 are as follows:-

Three clarifications requested from Jesus Christ by three disciples:

1. Verse 5, by Thomas: before Jesus comes to take us; how can we know the way?
The way is through the Father answered Jesus Christ.

2. Verse 8, by Philip: Requests Jesus to show us the Father.
The full knowledge of Jesus Christ reveals an individual to have the knowledge of the Father and enables the individual to see the Father (vs 7).

3. Verse 22 Judas (not Iscariot): Why Jesus is not showing Himself to the world?
Jesus Christ shows Himself to those who obey His teaching (vs 23).

Therefore, while we are waiting for Jesus Christ to come back for us (vs 3 & 28), we should remember that Peace has been given to us (vs 27). Even during situations that naturally will bring trouble and fear to our hearts, we must remember that as Christians we have already been given Peace. Hence, we do not have to be troubled nor be afraid.

For the prince of this world to have no hold on us, we must do Exactly what the Father has commanded us to do (vs 30 & 31). The Holy Spirit will remind us what we have been commanded to do (vs 26), including having Peace in the midst of danger!!

We must know that we are in Jesus Christ and He is in us and He has sent us. Remember that while Jesus was on earth, the Father was in Jesus Christ and He was in the Father and the Father had sent Him (vs 11)!! Speaking the words of Jesus in the name of Jesus Christ to a particular situation enables Jesus to do work through us. Recall that whatever Jesus was doing/speaking it was in the name of the Father and the Father performed it.

God bless the doves as we continue praying, reading the word & watching!!

Simon.
