"Re: Jan Markel's Out of
Flight 93"
Dear Jan,
I did go see Flight 93 and was outraged for a few reasons.
1. We certainly needed more of us to cheer on those brave men, women and
children on Flight 93 for the courage, the heroism displayed and love of
America. For the families who lost their love ones, I certainly say
thank you and pray for you. You have had the privilege to have had
these stellar individuals in your lives. They will be remembered
well.
I am outraged as well for the sequence of events showed
that our Vice President and President were well aware of the hostile take
over of all the planes prior to their impact into the buildings.
The staff at all airports were trying their hardest to get the V.P. and
President to order the military to get their planes up to defend us and
the response was "not yet". I don't know about you, but my spirit
was screaming by then. What do you mean, "not yet"!!!! And...why
was the military liason not reacting and just saying we are doing all we
can.
Thank God that there were some at the military base operation
airforce that was also at work in cooperation to get their planes off the
ground and again being thwarted by our Vice President and President not
responding. One has to ask the question, WHY??. What were these
men thinking?
I voted for them. And, I came away wondering if
these men knew something you and I don't know. In the beginning of
the movie, the FAA was notified that the President was in the air that
morning well before the planes were taken over and enroute to their destination.
I ask each of you to go and watch the movie as I intend
to do that again, but this time, take a pen and paper in hand to write
down the timing of events. As I understand the timing of events,
I am truly outraged as I hope you will do and start writing to your senators
to correct behavior.
Patty
