SUPREME COURT ALLOWS DECISION TO STAND PROTECTING
RELIGIOUS SPEECH IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS - The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed
the Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruling to stand which prohibits public
schools from censoring the religious viewpoints of students in class assignments.
Baldwinsville School District v. Peck involves a kindergarten student from
Syracuse, N.Y., who drew a poster depicting Jesus kneeling on one knee
with his hands open to the sky. The class artwork was later displayed at
a school event. However, school officials blocked any view of Jesus by
