The anti-Christian denim that shocked Sweden has arrived
in New Zealand - with controversy not far behind.
Kiwi girls love their denims, and now fashion retailer Storm are exclusively
stocking a new label for them to play with: cult denim brand Cheap Monday.
The Swedish home made jeans are famous for their super skinny fit. They've
also earned a fair bit of controversy, becoming known overseas as the
'Anti-Christian jeans'.
While the jeans themselves may look innocent enough, take a closer peek
at that logo on the bum and you'll see what all the fuss is about.
Well, maybe not - a menacingly smiling skull with an upside down cross
on its forehead ...what's so bad about that? The man behind the logo on
the jeans, Bjorn Atldax, has said that it is an "active statement against
Christianity", which he describes as a "force of evil". He believes his
design will help young people question Christianity.
Religious debates aside, we say these skinny jeans are heavenly - and
they're only $139.95. Cheap Monday jeans are available now at Storm in
Auckland and Hamilton.
