One of the things I love about the Lord, is His
sense of humor. I read The Da Vinci Code when it first came out,
long before the uproar over the book. It was in a box of novels my
husband brought home, to tide us over a long, dark winter. He sweeps
up arms full of books in the second -hand stores, and we pick out those
we're interested in, as the winter progresses. By the time Spring
rolls around, we've plowed through alot of books (as well as snow)
and if someone were to ask me to list the titles or explain the plots,
they would have all melted into a blur of words, as the snow melts and
runs down my driveway. The only reason the Da Vinci Code lodged in
my cranium, was the huge publicity it was given by Christians, in the media.
To me, it was nothing more or less, than a poorly written, poorly researched,
vaguely amusing thriller. The fellow could barely spell! (only
those living in northern climates, with a few bouts of cabin fever under
their belts, could understand how even the writing on the back of cereal
boxes can facinate, at -35 C )
To me, all of the uproar about the book has been nothing
short of amazing. It's like comparing a mosquito to an F-16!
Have we forgotten: " NOT BY MIGHT, NOR BY POWER, BUT BY MY SPIRIT, SAYETH
THE LORD"? Does anyone really believe that if the Lord is drawing
someone to Himself, a silly little novel (or even a literary masterpiece)could
stand in His way? After reading countless, dire warnings about this
book (shaking my head in disbelief)...I read Launni's dream this
morning and felt a huge bubble of joy rise up in my spirit, followed by
some gut bursting laughter. Yes!!! He is the I AM!!!
Who or what is going to stand in His Way?
