"Psalm 106 & 107"

Dear John,

Your article dealing with 2006 was real good and a blessing. I too believe that The Psalms correspond with the years of the 20th and 21st centuries.  I have repeatedly emphasized that truth in my studies.  I would like to add a point that many seem to be overlooking.

In Psalm 106:47 Israel is crying out to the Lord, “Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen [Gentiles], to give thanks unto Thy holy name, and to triumph in Thy praise.”  Considering the world situation as of this moment, doesn’t this plea of Israel suggest that a war is going to break out in the Middle East  before the end of this year?  Doesn’t this Scripture also suggest that the war will go badly for Israel, to the extent that they will cry out to God to intervene and deliver them from their enemies?  Doesn’t this Scripture also suggest that the Jews in Israel will be pleading for the Lord to bring “home” to Israel the Jews from other countries to help them defend the nation of Israel in their time of direst need?   Think about it!

Now read Psalm 107:1-3.  In these verses, corresponding with 2007, Israel is giving thanks and praise to the Lord, and urging all of their people [secular and religious] to speak out for the Lord, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”  Take careful note!  This is not talking about the spiritual redemption of Israel.  Rather, it is talking about Israel being delivered from their enemies.

It certainly seems to suggest that the war of 2006 will have gone so badly against Israel, that their very annihilation as a nation will be staring them in the face, but then the God of Israel will miraculously intervene, and Israel will be delivered.  These verses in Psalm 107 also state that the Lord has “gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.”  Could this be the reason Israel is “redeemed” from their enemies at that time?  Is it possible that when Jews all over the world see that the Israeli military is being defeated at every turn, and that the very existence of Israel as a nation is at stake, that hundreds of thousands of Jews from all over the world will suddenly rush to Israel by every possible means to fight for their land and their people and their “home?”   Is this the miracle that God will work at that time to “save” Israel “from the hand of the enemy”?

I don’t know!  But I think these passages deserve a much closer scrutiny than what most of God’s people have given them thus far.  I have thought for a long time that a short, but terrible conflict had to occur in Israel and the Middle East before the Antichrist could come on the scene to “confirm the covenant with many,” Daniel 9:27.  I think these two passages fit that scenario perfectly.  What do you think?

God bless you brother.  The Lord is using you in a mighty way to get the truth of His Word out to the masses.  May God’s people everywhere continue to “hold up your hands” in prayer, and by their financial support.
