"Re: Douglas Henney"

It is interesting that what Douglas says here confirms what a friend and I had been discussing just a few days ago. We were discussing the different beliefs that Christians have regarding the Rapture, among other things, and wondering how every group has Scriptures to support their view, sometimes using the very same Scriptures. I commented that it seems as if I continually meet people who seem to shed new light on some of the more difficult - to - understand Scriptures, yet they also seem to have mixed in some ideas that are totally unscriptural. I was lamenting that I wish I could find one person who has all the truth, and not just bits and pieces of it. My friend made a wise observation, that if one person knew ALL the truth, then he would be God.

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." 1 Cor 13:12.

I have been saying for several years that the Holy Spirit gives unto each of us a different puzzle piece, much like Douglas said. We cannot see the entire prophetic picture by keeping our piece to ourselves, but it is only when we contribute our piece to the puzzle that the entire picture begins to emerge. Just as the Holy Spirit does not give every member of the body the same spiritual gift, neither does He give each member the same puzzle piece, nor the same degree of understanding. Some members of the body of believers may have more mature understanding of the truth of the Scriptures, and others have just a glimpse of understanding, which Paul explains using the terms "meat" and "milk", 1 Cor 3:2 and Heb 5: 11-13. The Lord promises a reward to those who diligently seek Him, Heb. 11:6,  and tells us that the hidden treasures of His Word will be revealed to those who search for them, as the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. The Lord is a revealer of secrets, in His time, Dan 2: 27-29.

I read an article once, that I will have to search for to find again, that also explained the differences about the Rapture positions, and is the only one that makes sense. His idea, which Marilyn Agee and Douglas share, is that there is more than one Rapture. It explains the difference between the examples that Yashua gave us in pointing to the days of Noah and the days of Lot.

A quote from EAR  also in the same day's posts, says something similar about sharing what information we are given:

I'm sure as we share our insights, the full knowledge of what has been hidden in scripture will eventually be revealed to us. After all - Jesus said we were to "watch" not "speculate".

"Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day." Psalm 25:5.
