I am in total agreement with Tefe about the use of the name Jesus, though I will admit being confused for awhile after reading some of the same stuff that Tefe mentioned. It felt very awkward to use the names but I did for awhile, thinking it was what the Lord wanted. I even asked Him to please let me know the truth about all this. He reminded me of something that a dear friend and I had already agreed about. And He reminded me where the confusion comes from.
My friend Ian is a numbers guy, and we study online together a lot, and we had agreed that the numbers are ONLY there to confirm the truth of something, NOT to predict the future or anything like that. So a few days ago I was talking to the Lord about the very thing, whether or not it is OK to use the name Jesus. My name is Ellen, but my husband calls me Elena, which is my name in Spanish, and I answer to it. My workers call me Leni, which I also answer to, as it is a sweet, shortened form of my name in Spanish, and it is very endearing. My kids call me Mom, and I answer to that to, as well as a few other nicknames. I am quite sure now that the Lord answers to His name no matter how someone pronounces or mispronounces it, and no matter what language it is spoken in.
I was talking to Ian the other day and realized as we were studying that the number for Jesus in Greek is 888, which is a marvelous number, for new beginnings, and has many other wonderful things, too many to mention, connected to it. There is NO WAY that the enemy could have made all this up, as the numbers and alphabets belong to the Lord, and if He arranged it so that Jesus is a part of it, then that means the name is wonderful and we can use it without fear. Ian agreed, and I received a letter from another dear friend today that is another confirmation saying nearly the same thing. Yes, the enemy can counterfeit numbers and cause confusion about them, just as he tries to copy many things the Lord does.
Also this morning my teenage son Devin told, "Mom, you always say that the Bible says a matter is confirmed by two or more witnesses." He was commenting that both he and I had witnessed the same thing regarding his brother Derek, so it must be true. I was overjoyed when he said that, because, as I told him, he has been listening to me and it sank in, and he remembered it!!!PS:
I had not read all the Doves letters when I wrote this, and then I read the post by Bob D. He also mentions the name Jesus in Greek being 888, and his article was about new beginnings. This to me is another witness and confirmation about the truth of the name if Jesus. Thanks Bob, I had no idea you had written this!
