"re: Enoch, a sign of our blessed hope?"

I would add: According to Chuck Missler: According to ancient rabbinic tradition, Enoch was born on Pentecost.....AND......Enoch was raptured on His birthday, on Pentecost.  The church was also born on Pentecost.  Does it follow that the church will be raptured on its birthday too?????

Pentecost this year, begins at sundown this Thursday night, June 1, 2006.

"Enoch, a sign of our blessed hope?"

 Genesis 5:21-24
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: [22] And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: [23] And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: [24] And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

We know all that is written is for our learning...which by the way embraces the meaning of Enoch's name, namely "teaching."

Rom 15:4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah -his spiritual walk, 300 years. The number 300 stand for the Spirit of God.

Adam                                      Man
Seth                                        appointed
Enosh                                      mortal
Kenan                                     sorrow
Mahalelel                                The Blessed God
Jared                                       shall come down
Enoch                                      teaching
Methuselah                             his death shall bring
Lamech                                    the despairing
Noah                                        rest/comfort.

Enoch's name also mean commencement.  I have to wonder if Our Lord didn't simply spell things out for us through Enoch, His prophet, who is our rapture example, (our blessed hope). Could it be this simple?  I submit this for your discernment:

And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: 65

And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:  the exact number of days in our modern year.YEARS

If we apply this to what we know of Jesus' commencement of all things, the re-establishment of Israel in her land, by the parable of the fig tree;

Mar 13:28   Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:    So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, [even] at the doors.   Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

Sgs 2:13  The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines [with] the tender grape give a [good] smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

Hag 2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless [you].

Could the scripture of Enoch be hinting of our blessed hope?

1948 + 65 years = 2013

2013 - 7 = 2006
