Daniel:

The reason it seems to be coming to your attention that many Christians believe Christ is the “he” in Daniel 9:27, is because in fact that is the truth according to the Word of God. Jesus put an end to the animal sacrifices when he was crucified (or “cut off” in Dan 9:26) according to Hebrew 9. That is why the “Vail of the temple” was rent into at his crucifixion (cut off), signifying the old covenant had just ended, and a new covenant began, in the which “ALL” can now enter into the Holy of Holies if we are born again! We don’t need those animal sacrifices anymore because of Christ’s blood that was shed at the cut off (crucifixion) for us (Heb 9:12-15). I’m going to give you the Biblical proof that Jesus is in fact the “he” in Daniel 9:29 and not antichrist.

1)       Daniel 9:25 states the 69 weeks (7+62) continue “unto” Messiah the Prince. According to John 1:41, John 4:25-26, and Matthew 3:16-17. Jesus was anointed (meaning Messiah or Christ) at his baptism which occurred at the START of his 3 ½ year public ministry. 

2)       It’s common knowledge Jesus had a 3 ½ year public ministry, which ended as we all know at his crucifixion (cut off), therefore 69 ½ weeks of years ended also at the cut off (crucifixion). 

3)       Jesus was therefore Cut off (crucified) 3 ½ years “AFTER” (Dan. 9:26) him being “anointed” Messiah the Prince at his baptism.

4)       The above proves 69 ½ weeks of Daniel’s 70th Week therefore has already been used up at the cut off (or crucifixion in Daniel 6:26), which naturally only leaves 3 ½ years still in the future.

5)       99 % of our “modern” prophecy books has taught us in the last 150 years or so the “he” in Daniel 9:27 is the antichrist who will make a 7-year peace treaty with the many in Israel (Dan 9:27), which they say will commence the 70th week of Daniel. Then this tradition also teaches us this antichrist will break the 7-year peace treaty in the middle of the 70th Week ( 3 ½ years) as he enters into the newly built temple and declares himself God as he sits in the Holy of Holies of this new temple. The problem with all this men’s tradition is there is simply NO Biblical proof to back it up. That’s why the Bible states man’s traditions make the Word of God of none effect!

The whole context of Daniel 9:24-27 is about the coming Messiah and not antichrist. “The covenant mentioned in Daniel 9:27 is referring back to the Abrahamic Covenant Gabriel was already talking about in Daniel 9:4. Gabriel informs Daniel this coming Messiah would “confirm” (meaning strengthen) the Abrahamic Covenant during the first ½ of Daniel’s 70th Week. Roman’s 15:8, and Galation’s 3:17 proves Jesus “confirmed” this covenant during his public ministry and NOT antichrist. There is not one verse in the Bible that says the antichrist confirms anything or makes a covenant. This simply is a lie from the devil. This same devil would like the last generation Christians to be placed in a snare also with this strong delusion that the “he” in Daniel 9:27 is the antichrist.

The backbone of ALL modern prophecy teachings is Daniel 9:24-27, and is considered the key to understanding prophecy. Satan has switched the “key” by manipulating this critical set of Scriptures that is the backbone to prophecy.

Daniel, don’t take my word on these truths, but study it out for yourself. If you are sincere about learning the truth of all this, the Holy Ghost will show you THRU THE WORD OF GOD and not by men’s traditions.
