"Wisdom"

This little Bible study will help bring light to the Parable of the Virgins.  I want to be a Wise Virgin!

Wisdom

Proverbs chapters 1 to 3

“For the Lord gives wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding”  Proverbs 2:6

Wisdom: Knowledge guided by understanding.

Knowledge: The sum total of what is known: the body of truth, information and principles given to and acquired by mankind.

·       Knowledge is taught by God.  “The Lord teaches man knowledge; shall God not know”?

·       God is the source of all knowledge

·       Knowledge is only received by man when he does God’s will.  Jesus said, “If any man will do His (God’s) Will, he shall know of the doctrine (God’s knowledge, teaching)”.  John 7:17

Understanding: Knowing things in their right relationship.

·       We get understanding by “faith in the Word of God”.  “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear”.  Hebrews 11:3

·       Unbelief in God’s Word hinders us from getting understanding.  Jesus said, “Why do you not understand my speech?  It is because you cannot hear my word”.  “I tell you the truth, yet you do not believe me”.  John 8:43,45

·       For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent”.  I Corinthians 1:19

“The Lord by wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding has he established the heavens”.  Proverbs 3:19

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Gematria value = 2701)  Genesis 1:1

Wisdom (Strong’s #2451): Cheth (8) + Kaph (20) + Mem (40) + He (5) = 73

Triangle Number Function(73) = 1 + 2 + 3 + …………………..+ 73 = 2701

Fools despise wisdom and instruction; fools hate knowledge and do not fear the Lord.  Proverbs 1:7, 22, 29

·       If you:

1)   receive my words

2)   hide my commandments with you

3)   incline your ear unto wisdom

4)   apply your heart to understanding

5)   cry after knowledge

6)   lift up your voice for understanding

7)   search for her (my words) as silver

8)   search for her (my words) as hidden treasures,

Then you shall understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.  Proverbs 2:1-5
