"DISOBEDIENCE TO OBEDIENCE"

 DISOBEDIENCE TO OBEDIENCE

In Genesis Chapter 3:7-13 after Adam and Eve sinned they knew they had transgressed against God. In like manner I believe the average person is very in touch with their sins regardless as to what their status is-believer in Jesus Christ or an unbeliever. I know some people won't believe me on this but the average person is not oblivious. We for the most part know. This is why for me it seems to be a exercise in futility if I continually focus on my own sins rather than the person of Jesus Christ. This is why John the Baptist said to Jesus Christ Himself "He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30. Notice this man did not say "I must decrease and you must increase." The bigger Jesus Christ becomes in our lives the less we matter. Its all about Jesus. This is the principle.

Jesus Christ solved the sin problem 2000 thousand years ago on the cross and He is the answer to our sins today. Sin is a condition and sins are our behavior. Jesus Christ is the answer to both.

Notice both Adam and Eve felt exposed and became very fearful in their spirit. When a person sins they feel exposed with fear and will desire to hide in one way or another. This is built into us. It is human nature . When God confronted them with their sin it is interesting to me that their hiding was unsuccessful so they went to plan B. B stands for blame. You have to remember that both Adam and Eve had a perfect union not only with God but with each other. They are no longer joined but now both Adam and Eve are pointing fingers. One way we will be able to tell whether our fellowship is right with God is to check our own life and see if we are looking at other people in strife. Let the world do that. Only by taking responsibility and accountability for our own responses are we able to draw close to God.

Adam started to learn the principle of obeying God the hard way in subsequent years and in like manner we also struggle with our sins, mistakes, circumstances, trails, and fears trying our best to follow Jesus Christ. May God open up this amazing book of Genesis to you. Lord willing I will go through the stories with you for the purpose of exhorting you in edification. I know the Holy Spirit is going to quicken the Word of God and the wisdom of God's truth is going to come alive in our hearts as we anticipate our Lord Jesus' soon return.
