I am writing in answer to Justin who asked about this topic, which I happened to have just studied.
 
  Revelation 12 shows Satan's control of the world through the seven ruling kingdoms across history. The crowns are on the heads to show that they had rule over the earth each of them, but not on the 10 last kings of the last head/kingdom only because they are not ruling yet.
 
  Revelation 13 shows the state of Satan's control at the tribulation: the crowns are no longer on all the heads but on the 10 horns of the last head, to show that the final kingdom is ruling through the 10 heads.
 
  
Revelation 17 concurs with this, telling us that 10 kings will give their power to the Beast to rule with him for a short time.  Notice that this same beast with 7 heads and 10 horns is here.  This time there are no crowns on the Beast.  This shows us Satan's kingdom is not ruling the Earth at the time that America The Babylon is around, because she has kept all the attempts of Satan's kingdoms to rise(Germany, Russia, etc.) at bay.  She is a woman because she was a nation raised up by God, but she is a whore because she of course went away from God.  When she is removed from riding/controling the Beast for her wickedness, the Beast will finally have the crowns again, on the horns as Rev 13 shows for the Tribulation.
 
  You also asked if we should pray for Pergamos. Pergamos is a past prophetic phase of the body of Messiah, so obviously there is nothing to pray for.  Not even Philadelphia is around anymore, we're now in the Laodicea phase, the end times rich-and-needful-of-nothing-lukewarm-backslidden condition of the body today that we see produced by the churches.
