"Dead in Christ Rise First/ re: Deborah"

Hi Deborah

1Th 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1Cr 15:51-52 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

As I understand it Sister, those that have gone on to be with the Lord have not been resurrected. Their spirits have entered into a spiritual body in His presence but there is a resurrection of the earthly body that is "glorified"

1Cr 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

The corruptible must put on incorruption. This is at the resurrection.

Phl 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Jesus Bodily resurrected and we are promised like unto His Glorious Body.

The Resurrection of the Dead has not happen yet.
