I
could tell you two long stories about now, but I will keep them short and
to the point. It was in 1981 or 82 when I was showing a very close
friend of mine from Shreveport Louisiana along with his wife and daughter
a cave that is near the Damascus Gate, it is where most of the stones for
the 1st. Temple where quarried from. There are several Biblical stories
connected to the cave. But like I said I will shorten this for you.
While standing at the large part of the cave near the end of the route
for tourist I man stood off to the side looking intensively at me, and
then walked over and said are you Jerry Golden, I said yes who are you
and he said I’m Vendyl Jones and I heard you preach in a Church in Tyler
Texas a few years ago. I ask him what he was doing down here, he
told me how this cave runs for miles under the Old City to the hills just
before Jericho, and that he and others have made the entire trip but it
was very dangerous and that I shouldn’t attempt the trip, and I haven’t.
At that time Vendyl was a Baptist Preacher and claimed to believe in Yeshua
Ha MaShiach, but has since turned his back on Yeshua and embraced the Noahides
religion.
