"What will we offer our King?"

Time may be short........what are we doing for the Lord? 2 Cor. 5: 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

And, 1 Corin. 3: 12Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

And again James talks a lot about faith and works. “Faith without works is dead”, etc.

The only things that last are the things done for Christ. I want to make sure I am laying up treasures in heaven, not here on the earth. I want to make sure that my works are for Him, and they are done in faith. Think about it, even our motives will be judged.

Hebrews 4: 12For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

And,

Col 3: 2Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

All of our actions start with a thought, don’t they? What if we’re always thinking about our earthly problems and stresses, too busy to focus on what’s really important for all eternity? It just makes me want to pour out more effort into the race set before me. I think the finish line is fast approaching.

1 Cor. 9: 24Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

I want to be able to cast at least one crown at my Lord’s feet! He is worthy.

Rev. 4: 9Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
11"You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created."

I don’t want to show up empty-handed with nothing to offer my King.
