NEW JERUSALEM

Mankind’s history is the history of two cities, the city of man and the city of God. Man’s city existed from shortly after his creation. God’s city is eternal, yet still to come with respect to our perception. Man’s city is known by many names: Atlantis, Babel, Babylon, Tyre, Assyria, Egypt, Edom, Ammon, Rome, Jerusalem. Today it is called Mystery Babylon. God calls his city New Jerusalem. Man builds his city by the sweat of his brow and the strength of his flesh. God builds his by the Spirit. Dead wood and stone comprise man’s dwelling. Living stones (people born of the Spirit) make up God’s. God calls each man to leave his earthly city (Mystery Babylon) and journey to New Jerusalem. This is a spiritual journey. This is the journey of being in the world, but not of it.

Heb 11:10

For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Heb 11:16

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Heb 12:22

But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Heb 13:14

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
