Dear Dianne,Last year during our history studies on the Ancient World we focussed alot on
Israel with my children in our homeschool. We bought a little book about the
Biblical Feasts that Yeshua celebrated. The first feast we celebrated was last
year Rosh Hashanah...it was beautiful, and my children and my nephews and
nieces were invited to share in the celebration. It really moved them deeply,
and it was so much more meaningful than any of the Christianised holidays we
had celebrated in the past.
Slowly we have incorporated more feasts into our lives...it is such a learning
curve, and at times it is a little overwhelming learning and trying to bring it
all together with little impatient ones...but we love it. We had abandoned
Christmas and Easter years ago as the pagan influences I could not ignore, and
the Biblical Feasts are so rich and deep in meaning that we want to celebrate
them as they each come. We are in Australia, and I don't know anyone who
regularly celebrates the Feasts of the Lord, so we are trying (and fumbling) to
share them with others from our church and family. This Passover my husband
did an overview of the Seder at church and everyone thought it was nice, but
they thought he had got religious, we were a little bit disappointed...oh,
well.I have a Sister in Law in the USA who is a Jewish Christian and they go to a
Messianic Synagogue outside of Seattle and we had the privilege of
fellowshipping there in 1996, it was really different, but so neat.I just wanted to say that it has been a blessing to us, and the Lord is teaching
us so much through the study of the feasts and His word. These are but a
shadow of the things to come and I am very excited to be discovering so much
more all the time. It is nice to know there are others out there in the world
who have been moved the same way...and we haven't gone all weird! In some ways
it can seem lonely when the Lord impresses something on your heart and others
about you don't show the same enthusiasm. I have really appreciated reading at
your website and your letters to the doves...you've encouraged me and may the
Lord bless you.YSIC Elisa
