Maybe someone already posted this, so excuse my missing it.

What is the reason Naomi tells her two daughters-in-law to return to their MOTHERs' houses?  As much as I understand, wasn't everything considered through fathers and brothers - men?  In Moab, where they lived, was that the custom, harking back to Lot's daughters maybe?
