"Jews for Christians" Counters "Religious Left"
--> Posted to Jans_Articles for April, 2005"Jews for Christians" Counters the "Religious Left"--Jan Markell You have heard of "Jews for Jesus." You may know of the organization that tries to battle them known as "Jews for Judaism." But have you heard of "Jews Against Anti-Christian Defamation (JAACD)? The group is organized by journalist Don Feder and they are determined to support Christians who are under relentless attack coming from all directions.
Feder states in "World Net Daily," "What I consider an epidemic of anti-Christian bigotry and persecution is something that has concerned me for a long time." In 1996 Feder wrote a book entitled, "Who's Afraid of the Religious Right?" about the attack on traditional Christians.
Feder states, "Particularly pernicious is the leftist idea that it's legitimate to base your politics on anything EXCEPT religion. You can say that my politics are based on the views of Marx or Jane Fonda but as soon as you say your worldview is based on the Bible, that's considered an illegitimate basis for embracing certain political views. Part of America's future hinges on whether or not Christians--and I mean authentic Christians (in other words, not the "Religious Left")--succeed in the political arena."
Just a few who have signed on to JAACD include Mona Charen, Barry Farber, David Horowitz, Mort Klein, Rabbi Daniel Lapin, Michael Medved, and many more. Jews standing up for Christians when many so-called "Christians" will not stand up for true, Bible-believers!
Even the Jewish community is beginning to see the hypocrisy and inconsistency of the "Religious Left." On March 31 the World and National Council of Churches denounced Israel for stating that "all of Jerusalem belongs to Israel." They endlessly repeat the mantra about Israel's "illegal occupation of Palestine."
Many Jews now state, "We now understand the there are two kinds of Christians--those who love us and those who do not." This is a milestone in perception that has taken literally hundreds of years! The pattern has been to view the Christian world as a somewhat monolithic entity but recently they have rightfully concluded that there are two kinds of "Christians." Many Protestants and Catholics have taught that the Jews are under a "curse" for rejecting Jesus as Messiah and thus Jews should be condemned. The theology prevailing today is that the church is the new Israel--"Replacement Theology." This even led to the hatred of Jews and the Holocaust. The "Religious Left" finds more in common with the descendents of Ishmael who worship a foreign god and advocate jihad against Jews and Christians.
The "Religious Left" fit into the category of the end-times where people stray from sound doctrine. If you visit their Web sites, you will find them promoting the sharing and redistribution of wealth (socialism), environmentalism, boycotts, a Palestinian state, and union with many Leftist causes. They have abandoned the truth of the Bible long ago. And thankfully, many are starting to notice that indeed, there are "two kinds of Christians." Solid Bible-believers stand on the Word of God alone, embracing the words of Isaiah 40:7-8, "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of God stands forever." At the same time, many will stand on Genesis 12:3--the promise of blessing or cursing based on the treatment of God's covenant land and people.
Some evangelicals, however, almost join the "Religious Left" when it comes to Israel. A prominent Baptist pastor who headquarters out of my home town, Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, says the Jews do not deserve the land because they are in unbelief. What Bible is he reading? Ezekiel 37 says they come back to the land in unbelief, and then God begins a spiritual work in them. Yesterday's "Jerusalem Post" reports that there are now at least 10,000 Messianic Jews in Israel (Jews who believe Jesus to be the Messiah). They fill 80 Messianic congregations across the land. Twenty years ago the number may have been 1% of this figure.
Continue to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Ps. 122:6). As former PLO terrorist Walid Shoebat and I shared the platform at my recent "Understanding the Times 2005" conference April 8-9, I was impressed to announce that here is the solution to the Middle East conflict. Walid has an Arab heritage and I have a Jewish heritage, yet we were one in the Lord. Jesus is the only solution to the Middle East quagmire--not suicidal "peace treaties."
